Unifor Members Ratify New Contract After Striking At Seat-Maker Supplier

Unifor members took to the picket line this past Sunday after failing to ratify a new contract. The strike at Integram, a division of Magna International in Canada that makes seats, threatened to halt production of the 2017 Chevrolet Equinox and 2017 GMC Terrain in Ingersoll, Canada.

However, The Detroit Free Press reports Integram employees have ratified a new contract after the short strike. Of the 1,000 employees, 86 percent voted for the new labor agreement.

General Motors declined to comment on the effects of the seat producer’s strike, but operations are expected to return to normal for all parties involved.

Integram also provides seats for the Chrysler Pacifica, which is also built in Canada.
