Pixar’s ‘Cars 3’ Trailer Shows An Electric Vehicle Invasion: Video

The original Cars film took the world by storm, and hopefully gave birth to a new generation of gearheads. Pixar has now dropped the trailer for the film’s second sequel, Cars 3, and it looks surprisingly dark.
It’s brief, but we see the film’s main character, Lightning McQueen, leading the pack at an oval race before what is most likely an electric vehicle racing straight up the pack. After this, we see McQueen flip, tumble and crash out before the trailer goes dark.
We’d make a guess this upcoming film has to do with the invasion of EVs into racing and it will quickly become something Lightning McQueen needs to adapt to. Maybe we’ll get to see our favorite cartoon racer all washed up and emerge victoriously from a sophomore slump?
