Opel Enlists Bugs To Reinforce The Ampera-e’s All-Electric Range: Ad Break

The 2017 Opel Ampera-e is poised to help change the driving landscape in Europe when it launches next year, save for sister brand Vauxhall in the UK.
The dark humor begins with two insects in the road, one of them is concerned for the other’s well-being, worried they will be run down in the street. The worries are shrugged off since they’ll certainly hear the cars coming (which also poses the question once again regarding pedestrian safety and silent EVs), but after bug number two states it’s not possible an EV could make it out this far with such limited range, things go dark.
We’re also greeted with a presence from the big man upstairs at the end of the clip, too, who states even he couldn’t believe an EV is capable of 500 km of range.
Overall, it is a well-done ad that pushes a point across; the Opel Ampera-e is not a typical EV. Have a look for yourself up above.

Ironic that a law was just passed banning silent evs after 2019
In North America, that is. I don’t know if the EU has anything on the books.
Superb clip ! I like it.
How will GM respond to demand if this car really takes off. I had previously read that production volume is 30-40K cars annually. Which is pretty darn insignificant.
