The Wien GmbH engine and transmission plant has a new man in charge. Opel has appointed Paul Staes as the facility’s new managing director, effective November 1.
Staes was previously Director GME Manufacturing Support at the company headquarters in Rüsselsheim.
“Aspern is an important site for Opel and is synonymous for the production of modern engines and transmissions. Almost every Opel includes ‘know-how made in Aspern’. I am delighted that with Paul Staes, a production expert with international experience, will be taking over the management of the plant. I would also like to thank Tamás Solt for his commitment and wish him all the best for the future” says Phil Kienle, Vice President Manufacturing.
Staes succeeds Tomás Solt, who is leaving his position on his own doings.
