Opel has officially begun its crossover offensive, first announcing the Crossland X and now the Grandland X for 2017.
The Opel Grandland X will enter the B-segment crossover market with what the brand calls “irresistible off-road appeal, raised seating position, good all-round visibility, easy ingress/egress and plenty of space for luggage.”
“The name Opel Grandland X stands for an adventurous type always prepared to explore something new – in both an urban or rural environment. Our new crossover model looks fantastic and will help excite new customers for the Opel brand,” said Opel CMO Tina Müller.
The Opel Grandland X will be part of seven new models launching in 2017 which include the aforementioned Crossland X, Insignia Grand Sport and more.

I would like to think they would offer this as another alternative to the Envision (which just looks odd and outdated already), as Buick needs more fresh product in its lineup. If this Grandland X is sharing a platform with the Peugeot 3008, it’ll be 175″ L, which puts it about the size of the Jeep Compass/Patriot and Hyundai Tucson.
Crossland X and Grandland X will not be shared with Buick. These two cars are the result of the cooperation between Opel and PSA.
from what we know so far this is going to be a compact crossover so it might replace Antara?
Grandland X will be C-segment car, not B, because Crossland X is B-segment CUV car!
