We’ve seen the Cadillac Escalade HPE800 on the dyno and we’ve watched it rip up and down the test track. In this video we finally get to hear a bit more on what the Escalade HPE800 is like in the real world.
When company founder John Hennessey stated that the Escalade HPE800 is capable of hitting 60 miles per hour in less than four seconds, our desire to drive it grew exponentially. We figured it was fast, but not that fast. Of course, with all that power comes great responsibility, and thanks to the 22-inch Hennessey H10 alloy wheels, this Escalade fits an upgraded braking system. An absolute must if you ask us.
As John drives the 6,000-lb SUV around the track he mentions that the only changes under normal driving conditions are a slightly more audible exhaust note and a whining blower. With minimal tradeoff, this makes the whole package even more appealing. So, thanks to Hennessey Performance Engineering, you can scare the crap out of six passengers while at the same time encapsulating them in one of the most iconic SUVs on the road.
As we’ve discussed before, a vehicle like this could be just what GM is missing – a performance full-size luxury SUV. Go ahead and click play to see if you agree. It’s not officially a Cadillac Escalade-V, but it’s the best we’ve got.
