Holden is embarking on quite an uneasy era as it will cease local manufacturing by this time next year. However, Holden executives remain optimistic for the brand’s future and there’s a new name ready to help implement change.
Holden has appointed Mark Harland as Executive Marketing Director for the brand. With the title, Harland will be responsible for “redefining the brand and better engage with today’s Australia,” according to the press release.
Harland most recently spent two years as Marketing and Customer Experience Director, a part of the GMI Vehicle Sales Service & Marketing (VSSM) leadership team based in Singapore. He has also spent time working in Europe, the U.S. and China since he started with General Motors in 1997.
“Mark’s leadership and experience in various GM roles and markets, combined with his involvement in the development of our brand strategy and plans, means he has an in-depth understanding of where we are taking the iconic Holden brand, to better reflect and connect with today’s Australia,” said Holden Chairman and Managing Director, Mark Bernhard.
Harland’s position is effective immediately.
