The GMAuthority Take
With ELR production having ended in February 2016, these results represent sales of the remaining inventory of the vehicle. Yet, as we have previously mentioned, the demise of the ELR does not mean the end of electrified Cadillac vehicles, as the prestige luxury brand is building the technology into other vehicles. The upcoming Cadillac CT6 PHEV is just one example of this strategy.

And there are still unsold 2014 Models around the united states.. lol
I could be interested in an ELR….if I only knew if I were going to retain my local Cadillac dealer. Can we get a list of dealers who have accepted the buyout?….
“…continues to sell out” is a rather positive way of looking at three sales, nationwide. for the month. You’d have to think the remaining buyers are getting pretty good deals, though.
That car is really plush inside.
And it’s definitely a stunner with its sexy looks.
Good luck to the owners!
Cadillac needs to apply the interior and exterior style to the sub ATS . The so call CT3 or whatever the are going to call it. Then give the performance to go with the styling and they will have themselves a winner.
Cadillac ELR had great potential except it just didn’t fit the philosophy of current Cadillac President, Johan de Nysschen, which is strange as de Nysschen gave the green-light for the CT6 Hybrid and is considering a XT5 Hybrid; this makes you wonder whether this means de Nysschen would consider a Cadillac similar to Ferrari’s LaFerrari.
The truth is the ELR was a big mistake. It really did little damage but they made some real mistakes here.
#1 It is difficult to make a Show Car into a production car. While this is a stunner in looks the two doors and the lack or rear seat room was a major issue. They really needed to repackage the car to make it so you could haul 4 adults. As it is the back seat has less leg room than a 911.
#2 The price was ok if they offered more performance in the car. The slight programming changes were not enough to justify the price.
There just was too much Volt for the money. But because there so much Volt in this they did not take as much of a hit on this as they could have.
If they had only offered this with a Gas 2.0 Turbo with about 320 HP it could have been cheaper and sold in much greater numbers as a sport coupe.
It is what it is.
I would rather see them use this technology on larger cars and make them worthy of the price to make money. Make a CT6 version that is a Tesla killer that anyone could buy and live with that has no charging station near them. That is most of the country.
This is such a stunning car it would sad to see it’s styling go away. Take away the battery pack and increase the back seat room put in a turbo 2.0 and sell it as a performance coupe at a much lower price range than the original.
the ELR looks like turd.
the ELR looks like a turd.
You saw yourself as a turd today?
I would assume that these forums are NOT monitored since ignorant trolls are allowed to leave such constructive and informative comments as the one above which says “the ELR looks like a turd.”
I don’t understand why people think the ELR looks good…it is one of the weirdest looking cars on earth….I suspect all EV cars look weird.
