2018 Chevrolet Equinox Will Make Its Public Debut In Los Angeles

Next week, we will be live from the 2016 Los Angeles Auto Show, which kicks off the auto show circuit well into 2017. And there will be a very important vehicle from Chevrolet we will surely be taking an even closer look at.

The 2018 Chevrolet Equinox will make its public debut in Los Angeles after it was revealed at a private media event weeks prior. The 2018 Equinox is merely the first step in reinvigorating Chevrolet’s crossover and SUV lineup, so the brand says.

“The all-new 2018 Chevrolet Equinox is a modern SUV sized and designed to meet the needs of the compact SUV customer,” said Alan Batey, president of GM North America and brand chief, Global Chevrolet. “We’ve got the strongest truck business in the industry and we’ve reinvigorated our car lineup with Volt, Cruze and Malibu. Now we are focusing on growing our crossover/SUV business, starting with the Chevrolet Equinox.”

The biggest news will be in the powertrain department, as the 2018 Equinox picks up three turbocharged engine choices and all of four-cylinder configuration. Not to mention, one of them is a 1.6-liter turbo-diesel engine. The petrol-powered engines will be mated to GM’s new nine-speed automatic transmission; shifting duties for the diesel engine have not been revealed just yet.

It’s an important vehicle for Chevrolet. The brand has sold nearly 2 million Equinoxes since its introduction, becoming the second-best-selling vehicle behind the Chevrolet Silverado. We’ll see you in L.A., Equinox.

  4. The new Equinox looks like a nice SUV . Think how much more fun would have been had if it came with the 6 cylinder of the old model .
I am more interested in the new Terrain . GM has done a good job of keeping it hidden from the spy photog’s . Maybe it will show up at the NAIAS .
