The 2018 Chevrolet Equinox is set to be a very important product for the brand, mostly because it finally begins to define the segment for Chevy. No longer is the Equinox an inbetweener CUV, but instead, a compact crossover. This move will make room for a true midsize crossover from Chevrolet in the near future.
The 2018 Chevrolet Equinox took to the 2016 Los Angeles Auto Show to show off its new looks and will be giving the locals an idea of what to expect from the crossover when it launches in the first quarter of 2017.
In person, the 2018 Equinox follows an evolution of Chevy design, and that’s not a terrible thing. Its front end is soft and pleasant to look at, while the rear takes a less rounded look to give the impression that this is indeed an SUV. Manufacturers, Chevrolet included, love telling us the Equinox is an SUV.

This is GM’ second best selling vehicle for the past six years or more. But it can sell even more if there was a hybrid or EREV model, too. I have a 2009 Equinox and it has been troblefree!
I have owned 2012 Equinox and also 2014 of witch we still own. The wife a I really like the look of the 2018 Equinox I know it looks a little shorter it’s the interior the wife and I are worried about if it’s smaller than are 2014 then I guess we will just keep our 2014. The interior is going to be what decides if we are going to buy a 2018.
We didnt start having problems with our equinox until it was 4 + years
Dont keep them that long…….google equinox ….oil and transmission problems
Stay away from it ….had a new 2010 …lasted 4 yrs didn’t finish paying for it …the motor went ….the transmission went …got nothing for it …warning sign …was oil dropping …many many times …get oil change 1 week later oil was low ..over and over …so under warranty they replaced motor …then 4 months later transmission went ..will never do GM again!!!! Now have a new Nissan murano
My 2012 Equinox LTZ V6 turned 5 years old this past August. It has given me 65,000 total trouble free miles so far and is one of the best vehicles I have ever owned (and I have owned over 40 cars). My original brakes are still at 80% and the vehicle easily gets 25mpg highway. The interior looks brand new with no signs of wear and the car has no squeaks or rattles. I am anxious to see the 2018 model as it appears to fix a couple small complaints I have with this one. The old foot style parking brake that hits my shin in now replaced with an electronic brake and it now looks like golf clubs will fit in the back without folding the back seat. I am OK with the 2.0 turbo if it doesn’t require premium fuel.
