One lucky performance shop has already had the pleasure of strapping on a 2017 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 to its dyno to see what its stock numbers would be.
As we all know, the 2017 Camaro ZL1 arrives with 650 hp and 650 lb-ft of torque from its 6.2-liter LT4 supercharged V8 engine. However, never expect those figures at the wheels. Accounting for typical drivetrain loss, most cars normally see a 15 percent loss. And that seems to be the case here with the 2017 Camaro ZL1.
After scaring the hell out of anyone in a one-mile radius, the Camaro ZL1 lays down a respectable 554 rear-wheel hp figure. The best run saw 532 lb-ft of torque heading to the wheels, too.
It seems the owner of the video will soon be building the 2017 Camaro ZL1 into something much more, so stay tuned for what happens to this particular ZL1. In the meantime, check out the dyno run in the video above.

What a beautiful Sound, from a great looking Car !!
Check the “15% drivetrain losses” for the M4…
Apparently, the BMW drivetrain ADDS about 10hp to the “flywheel” figure that BMW quotes. See MT videos for dyno’ed evidence.
Is that in line with the Vette Z06?
what sae hp rating are you using? bet it’s the old one, not the revised 2006 rating this car is rated with. seems as though none of the shops got the revised rating in a software upgrade or whatever dynojet (or other dyno maker) would do. that leaves us comparing apples to oranges. would really like to one with newer sae rating for fair comparison.
