1 Of 105 1988 Callaway Corvette For The Connoisseur Enthusiast: eBay Find

We’ve just recently stumbled upon this 1 of 105 1988 Chevrolet C4 Corvette with a limited edition Callaway biturbo package on eBay with a price tag of $33,950 USD. Although there were 125 bi-turbo Corvettes built that year, only 105 were built with Regular Production Option (RPO) B2K. You can see a list of the features included in the package below along with the cost when new:
- Callaway AeroBody Kit / $11,600
- Center Exhaust / $1,290
- Heavy Duty Wonder Bar / $1,200
- Coil Over Suspension / $2,895
- Bridgestone Run Flats / $5,252
- LTPWS System / $445
- Body Shop / $1,700
- Front Brembo Brakes / $4,200
- Rear Brembo Brakes / $5,425
The Heavy Duty Wonder Bar add-on brought power up to 420 horsepower from 382 horsepower. On top of that it’s got 562 lb-ft of torque. Figures aside, a twin turbocharged V8 has got to be a blast to drive. This particular Callaway Corvette has only 10,785 miles on the dash, so it’s probably still got most if not all of its power.
The car does show its age when it comes to the exterior, though. The seller notes that there are “some paint blemishes which include minor rock chips along with some minor cracked paint by the nose of the vehicle (where it was scraped).” And the stereo isn’t functioning. Aside from that, though, the car’s all there. We must say we prefer the rear-end of the AeroBody kit as opposed to the traditional C4 rear.

Looks like a nice car overall. I have one of the other 104 1988 B2K cars and would not sell it right now for 34K. It is a unique car, represents the top of Corvette performance for the 1980s, and is still fun to drive. The modifications to the engine itself by Callaway are substantial and really never seen before or since in a GM option code car.
