The classic rivalry of Porsche vs Corvette will be duked out once again, this time with Motor Trend‘s upcoming episode of Head 2 Head.
The inbound episode specifically features the 2017 C7 Corvette Grand Sport facing off against the Porsche 911 Carrera S. The 911 Carrera S impressed the MT judges at the most recent Best Driver’s Car competition, but for whatever reason, the C7 Corvette Grand Sport was not present. That left the 2017 Chevrolet Camaro 1LE alone at the competition.
In particular, the rivalry has historic roots with MT and Head 2 Head specifically. The very first episode of the channel featured a then new 991 Porsche 911 vs a C6 Corvette Grand Sport. Long story short, the Porsche wiped the floor with the C6 Grand Sport.
The C7 Grand Sport is a lot more car than the C6 Grand Sport ever was, and we think it has a pretty good shot at pulling off the win this time.

Too bad MT hates the zo6
Vette will always win on value at a track battle. But in the real world, the 911 is more practical with 2 small rear seats, a proper storage unit (front trunk), and it has the engine on the wheels that drive, so you can drive a 911 year-round. Ever seen a vette grand sport in the snow or rain? There’s one brave soul in Toronto who drives his red c7 in the winter. Also the 911 will always win 0-60 and yet it is better on gas.
I’d love to see the c7 go toe-to-toe with the new 718 S, since they’re in the same price range, but the porsche somehow appears so much more luxurious. Also it can be driven year-round.
