Shanghai OnStar has revamped its packages as it targets greater coverage with safety, mobile, fleet management and telematics. The new plans include a first-of-its-kind B2B service platform in China that allows corporate users to enjoy onboard telematics services.
Specifically, Shanghai OnStar has revamped the mobile application, which now includes advanced functions such as electronic fence, dealer scheduling, 4G Wi-Fi management and charging management. This is in addition to remote control, real-time car condition information, location feedback and route information.
For security and safety, the first onboard telematics business-to-business (B2B) service platform looks to alleviate the pains of fleet management. Corporate users can check vehicle information at any time on their smartphone or PC terminal, such as vehicle locations, parking records and driving routes, and easily monitor inspection requirements, fuel consumption, accidents, and repair and maintenance.
Shanghai OnStar will also bring newfound telematics data with the new plans. The reports are based on “deep insights” into different driver habits and behaviors as well as vehicle conditions in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Shenzhen.
A series of easy-to-understand telematics indexes on key topics that include driver fatigue, driving pleasure, car care, late night functionality, vehicle condition and mobility are included with the latest plans.
Shanghai OnStar currently has over 1 million active users in China, and that number is expected to grow to nearly 12 million vehicles on the road by the end of this year.
