Cars and hockey. Despite sounding like an excellent offshoot of cars and coffee (as I type this, I realize “coffee” and “hockey” rhyme…), the two don’t normally go hand in hand.
However, Ottawa Senators’ goalie, Craig Anderson, thinks they do, and his new goalie mask proves he’s the biggest Corvette fan of them all. The Drive reported on Anderson’s new mask, which features a red C7 Corvette ripping through both sides of the helmet. The mask’s artist, Sylvie Marsolais, spoke briefly about what inspired the design.
“Craig is a huge Corvette fan … His demands were real simple: go similar (to) last year, but with the new Corvette model. Then we suggested to put the C7.R model – which has a more racing feel to it and has a meaner look.”
It’s a pretty excellent looking design, and it even features a nod to Corvette Racing with its “Jake” skull mascot covering the backplate.
We’re not sports reporters, but the Senators went on to win against the Toronto Maple Leafs in overtime. Maybe the helmet had something to do with it? We don’t know, but right on, Craig Anderson. Right on.

Anderson is a huge vette fan, for as long as I can remember he’s had a corvette painted on his helmet and the corvette racing skull logo on the back.
