Next-Generation Opel Corsa Spied Looking Slightly Larger

Despite Opel recently updating its Corsa, there’s an all-new model inbound, likely for 2018. Motor1 has received some of the first spy photos of the upcoming car, and it’s looking slightly larger.

Indeed, the 2018 Opel Corsa will likely grow in size to make room for a larger interior cabin, effectively putting the Ford Fiesta and Volkswagen Polo in its crosshairs. The current Corsa, while new, really sits as an extensively updated Corsa D.

From the spy photos, it looks like the 2018 Corsa is wearing production head and taillights, akin to the Opel Astra K. If the Astra K is anything to go by, we’d expect the interior cabin to make similar strides in quality and ergonomics as the Astra.

The report states a full lineup of turbocharged four- and three-cylinder engines are likely to be offered, combined with a healthy weight loss to ensure utmost efficiency. A Corsa OPC will return, but it’s unclear if the same 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder will power the hot hatchback.

The new Corsa will likely make its debut at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show next year.

I’m guessing that the new Corsa will be a dressed up Spark or, should I say, the presentation that Chevrolet Spark deserves.
GM makes too many copies of the same vehicle.

  3. Spark is Opel Karl, a much smaller car than Corsa F, and Corsa will also form the basis for the new Mokka, Buick Encore and Chevrolet Trax.
