Lingenfelter Performance Engineering seems to have a rising wheelman by the name of Dirk Stratton. Stratton, the only driver in the Formula Drift Pro series to utilize an LPE powerplant, has been named “Rookie of the Year” following a tremendous showing.
Stratton earned 191.00 points while wheeling his 2009 C6 Corvette, which is powered by a Lingenfelter 7.0-liter LS7 V8 engine. It’s the only Corvette to be found in the championship.
Stratton’s best finish occurred in Phoneix on October 1, 2016, where he placed third overall, landing himself on the podium in the final round of the get-sideways competition.
Now, Stratton will be busy working alongside the LPE engineering team to provide technical support on the C6 Corvette and how the LS7 V8 engine performed. Watch for Stratton next year as he competes in the Formula Drift Pro 2 circuit for the title of Pro Championship Rookie of the Year.
