Holden Special Vehicles is slowly facing the reality its business platform of building hopped up Holden Commodores is coming to a close. Performance Drive reports the Holden Commodore Sportswagon based Clubsport R8 Tourer will be first on HSV’s chopping block.
To send the HSV Clubsport R8 Tourer off, HSV is said to be planning a short production run of a 550 hp special edition wagon alongside a handful of other bespoke vehicles.
The final Clubsport R8 Tourers will not only feature a more potent version of the current 6.2-liter LSA supercharged V8 engine, but the report states high-performance brakes, unique wheels and commemorative badging will be present.
It’s rumored only 50 of these sportwagons will be sold after the vehicle is introduced between February and March of 2017.
Meanwhile, work is moving forward on the HSV GTS-R W1, a bonkers final send-off edition to the Commodore with a 6.2-liter supercharged LS9 V8 engine.
One of them will be on a boat, headed for the United States…

Clubsport looks meaty after the firewall area…all the passenger area but the hood front looks timid…segmented…as though the car does not fit together in a clean sweep.
