You may remember Genovation from its record-setting, C6 Corvette Z06 based GXE electric vehicle. Forget about that Genovation GXE. This is the company’s latest venture.
If it looks even more familiar, it should. The new-generation Genovation GXE begins life as a 2017 C7 Corvette Grand Sport before the Rockville, MD-based company guts the 6.2-liter LT1 V8 engine and replaces it with a full electric powertrain.
Improved battery management allows power to jump to 660 hp, while torque remains identical to the outgoing GXE, at 600 lb-ft. Better yet, the new GXE retains its 50/50 weight distribution and it will shed weight thanks to its movement from C6 to C7 architecture.
So, no emissions, lots of power, what’s the catch? It’s going to be really, really expensive.
Genovation says the price for a C7-based GXE will be $750,000. If you’re serious, $250,000 is required as a down payment for the vehicle, with deliveries expected to begin in 2019. GXE has plans to build just 75 examples of the C7 GXE Corvette.

Cool car, very uncool price which is totally unrealistic. They will starve.
$750,0000 for an electric Corvette!? Welp, there goes that idea…
Why did they go back to the round tailights? They don’t work on the C7. I though we covered this ages ago.
Very cool car, check. Very expensive car, check. Very much looks like a GT-R with those canted tail lights, CHECK. (not cool, check).
Funny as I was thinking the same thing. The GTR taillight look is tolerable, IMHO, but I would prefer C6 style round. Either way it’s stupid money for an electric conversion car. Also, If I had the $$ for that, I would be seriously looking at a Rimac.
