‘Camaro vs. Mustang’ Rivalry The Topic On One-Year Anniversary ‘Miked Up’ Podcast

What better way to celebrate the one-year anniversary of The Detroit News’ “Miked Up” podcast than with one of the most debatable automotive topics in history? That’s right, it’s Camaro versus Mustang.

Rather than simply produce a podcast, “Miked Up” dedicated a live video to the topic with some special guests to discuss decades of pony car rivalry. They included Dennis Archer Jr. – local attorney, business owner, and son of former Detroit Mayor Dennis Archer Sr. – as well as Ford Mustang Chief Engineer Carl Widmann and Chevrolet Camaro Senior Creative Designer Adam Barry.

The rivalry continues to this day, as the sixth-generation Chevrolet Camaro recently came off its best sales month ever, outselling the Ford Mustang in September, and will definitely be contested well into the future. If the engineers at both respective brands have anything to do with continued one-upmanship, we think these two cars will be around for quite some time. Check out the episode below

  1. Sales as of September, Mustang 87,000 units, Camaro 54,000 units. Any questions?
