Cadillac CT6 Deliveries Total 1,343 Units In September 2016

The new 2016 Cadillac CT6 full-size prestige-sport-luxury sedan saw 1,343 deliveries in the United States in September 2016, representing the model’s best monthly U.S. sales performance since launch.

The figures compare to 1,242 U.S. deliveries in August, and 827 U.S. deliveries in July, and 962 units in June. Since commencing sales in March, the CT6 has accounted for 5,391 cumulative deliveries in the United States.

It’s also worth noting that September wasn’t only the best sales month for the CT6 in the United States, but also globally: the vehicle accounted for a cumulative of 2,242 deliveries around the world — the highest on a worldwide level since its introduction.

Based on a high-tech, modern and lightweight rear-drive architecture called Omega, the CT6 is the first Cadillac model ever to compete in the full-size luxury flagship sedan space that has been defined by such segment stalwarts as the BMW 7 Series, Mercedes-Benz S-Class, Audi A8/S8, and Lexus LS.

  1. Good result for the domestic market. I do not see volume exceeding 1500 units per month for the remainder of the year.
I like what they have done with this car. It offer world class engineering and good value (relatively speaking).
I just wished they hadn’t made the suspension so stiff. Should have been more boulevard cruiser rather than canyon carver.

  2. its a slow seller and Cadillac needs to stop calling the CT6 a BMW 7, S-CLASS competitor because it isn’t …..a lot of hard plastic doesn’t hold good value and I wouldn’t pay $88.000 for a CT6 with the same hard plastic found in the base CT6.

    1. Agreed that there is work to do to be class competitive with the 7 Series, S-Class or Jag XJ name plates.

    2. 1343 ct6 vs 1201 7 series in US. Do You call it slow seller? I know bmw more expensive, but still very impressive results for cadillac

      1. I think the 1200-1500 range is where this model will settle in at . At the lower trim levels this vehicle is a very good value. It becomes hard to justify a Platinum though at $90K.

    3. I concur, rye! I acknowledge what the CT6 has to offer in terms of value, content and engineering, and it’s a great product for those wanting a large, RWD Cadillac sedan. But I too lament the cost-cutting that is prevalent in this car, and for me, it saps the appeal away! America simply has no answer to the prestigious luxury saloons from Germany, and at this rate, they probably never will.

    4. Couldn’t agree more. The interior is just not on par. Materials could be much better. The design and tech are there, but materials and surfaces fall short. In addition, rear legroom is shorter by an average of 3 inches compared to the competition. I have said it before and got some heat for it, but, to me, the CT6 is more of a tweener between 5 and 7 Series and E and S class. Priced closer to a midsize, but sized closer to a full size.

What Cadillac should have done was make Escala the flagship sedan, named CT8, to usher in the new evolution of Cadillac design and refinement. Then take the CTS and rename it CT6 and grow it a bit to still compete in the midsize class. And lastly, move ATS to CT4 as a compact sport sedan, and still leave room for a subcompact entry model (CT2).

  3. an $88.000 car shouldn’t have any plastic and cheap materials inside and out……the CT6 is overpriced.

  4. I would love the see the Escala make it to production…..but without the sloping coupe like roofline….it looks too European and it doesn’t go it a flagship.
