The Passenger-Side Mirror On The Cadillac CT6 Is, In Fact, Auto-Dimming

Last year, prior to the launch of the Cadillac CT6, we studied the model’s order guide and reported that only the driver-side exterior mirror will have the auto-dimming feature. We were disappointed to say the least, since the CT6 is Cadillac’s flagship sedan and the competition from BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Audi, Lexus and Jaguar includes two auto-dimming mirrors as standard equipment. Turns out the order guide was wrong and the CT6 does, in fact, have two auto-dimming mirrors — one on each side of the vehicle.
We discovered the feature upon spending some quality time with the full-size prestige-sport-luxury sedan some time ago. Having both mirrors with the auto-dimming feature is quite convenient, as it decreases the amount of light that bounces off the mirror into the cabin during night-time driving, thereby reducing distractions and increasing driver and passenger comfort levels.
As it currently stands, the CT6 is the only Cadillac vehicle (and also the only GM product) with two auto-dimming wing mirrors, so here’s to hoping that this is a harbinger that Cadillac will integrate two feature across the rest of its vehicle lineup.
PS: the order guide for the CT6, whether for the 2016 or 2017 model years, continues to incorrectly state that only the driver-side mirror is auto-dimming.

as far as side mirrors go on luxo sedans, those are about the best looking
Agreed. They are very elegant. The flipside is that the glass is a bit small. But with all the safety systems standard/available in the vehicle, that doesn’t really matter.
All of their previous cars used to have one (left, driver’s side) auto-dimming mirror, so, probably, nobody bothered to check if the person writing the order guide has the info that CT6 is different in this regard.
