It needs a substantial update…and nicer gauge cluster! Try gauge cluster from CTS V…at least as an option…at least in the ATS V
the ATS looks like a turd and it’s vary cramped.
How is it that a car which outdoes BMW in every way not be a best-seller? The ATS has smaller inner dimensions than the BMW with which it competes, an even harsher ride than the BMW (not easy to beat a beemer at the harsh-ride game), does 0-60 faster and tighter turns. The car writers love the test track performance of this thing! I thought that if you could out-BMW BMW, you’d win – isn’t that what they’ve been telling us? Is it possible that Americans prefer Cadillac to make American style luxury, not Euro-luxury?
Faster 0-60? The ATS-V, maybe, but not the regular ATS. The ATS 2.0 is slower than the BMW 2.0, and the naturally aspirated 3.6 is really no match for BMW straight 6, and probably a full second slower to 60
That why the ATS and CTS arnt selling….and the CT6 showed slow sells…. Cadillac needs to go back to big comfy Amarecan styled cars….not cramped and undersized tweeners with harsh rides that are BMW wanabees….pluse Cadillac needs an all-new design theme and all of that won’t happen overnight.
I love my ATS Performance model in Obsession Red, it handles like no other car I’ve driven, it has the 3.6L engine which at 323 hp gives it very decent punch and it has delivered 25.9 mpg over 29,000 miles. Now I have driven the base model ATS and it’s a completely different animal, I don’t really like it and I think everyone not buying the ATS is driving the those base models, not the Premium or Performance models, which are the only models that have the cool looking signiture lighting, really good headlights and handling, Navigation and all those nice first impression things. All ATS models should have had the lighting and driving capabilities right out of the box (standard equipment). If someone wants to load it up on other options then do it, but make the first impression favorable (handling & appearance) at a good price then as sales grow you can do other things. Cadillac has shot themselves in the foot with the approach they’ve taken.
It’s cramped.
It’s unreliable.
It’s cheaply and poorly build.
It’s the least inspirational car brand.
It’s resale value drops to zero after you drive it home.
It’s grandpa’s car gone wrong, hoping to be a German luxury car from an aspirational German car brand.
Why would anybody buy this car from a second tier car brand, for the price of a first tier car brand!
the ATS is nothing but a turd on wheels….not only the profile looks hideous…. it looks cheap inside and out and it has the worst interior packaging….I would not spent a cent on an ATS.
