Along with the latest information dump on the 2018 Holden NG Commodore, the brand also confirmed local police forces will still have a Commodore to choose from when it comes to patrol vehicles.
“The next-generation Commodore will reset benchmarks in its class, as has every Commodore since 1978,” said Holden’s Executive Director of Sales, Peter Keley.
“What Commodore will also continue to do is carry the family in space and comfort. Commodore will also race in Supercars from 2018 and continue to be on the road as police cars.”
Replacing the current Commodore patrol vehicles has been a debated topic for some time. The Ford Mustang, as well as BMW and Volvo vehicles, have all been considered to replace aging Falcons and Commodores for police fleets.
However, the true test will come when local departments get their hands on the latest Commodore.
