If you’re looking for a little extra cushioning to your retirement fund, how about a 2017 C7 Corvette Grand Sport Collector Edition?
Corvette Blogger reports of the 1,000 total Grand Sport Collector Editions, 850 of them are being allocated to the United States, the Corvette’s largest market. That means the rest of the globe will compete for 150 units. Production of the Collector Edition has been pushed back from regular C7 Grand Sport production and will be spread out over the months of October through February of 2017.
The 2017 C7 Corvette Grand Sport Collector Edition arrives exclusively in Watkins Glen Gray Metallic, contrasted by Tension Blue fender hash marks and full-body, Satin Black stripes. Inside, Tension Blue is awash over the dashboard and seats, along with a very cool serial plate featuring a mockup of the original Grand Sport.
Pricing for the Grand Sport Collector Edition in coupe form starts at $80,190, while a convertible will set you back $84,190. If you plan on tracking your very rare Corvette, though, there’s always the optional Z07 package to step it up a bit. That will tack on an additional $7,995 to the price tag.
If you’re simply daydreaming, build your own C7 Corvette Grand Sport at the configurator right here.

Not so sure of the math here. 1,000 units worldwide. 850 to US. That leaves 150, not 250. Or am I missing something?
Depending on when the mid-engine C8 comes out.. all of these have the potential of becoming a collector’s item 20-30 years down the road.
Cars are to be driven. Pretty much storing a car for a couple of decades to make a killing on a mint copy at a Meechan’s auction seems a waste.
Buy a Corvette to enjoy. Invest on Wall Steet to make money.
Just my 2 cents.
