How To Keep Up With This Weekend’s IndyCar GoPro Grand Prix Of Sonoma

This weekend the Verizon IndyCar Series heads to California’s wine country for the GoPro Grand Prix of Sonoma, the final round of the 2016 season. Only two drivers can take the championship, Will Power and Simon Pagenaud, and both are behind the wheel of a Team Penske Chevrolet.
Pagenaud has a better chance at taking the championship, as he’ll take the crown if he simply finishes fourth or better at Sonoma, even if Power wins. Sonoma offers double the points, so there are a number of ways Power can take the championship, but almost all of them rely on Pagenaud finishing fifth or worse. Both drivers could also be docked points if they were to need an engine change at any points throughout the weekend.
Things could get interesting in California this weekend, so you wont want to miss out on the action. You can catch qualifying on NBC Sports on Saturday at 6:30 p.m. ET, with coverage of the race beginning on NBC Sports on Sunday at 6:30 p.m. ET. Live timing of the race will also be available via IndyCar.com.
