Cadillac Racing and the rest of the Pirelli World Challenge field are heading west this weekend for rounds 18 and 19 of the 2016 season at Sonoma Raceway. Cadillac is currently trailing Porsche and McLaren in the manufacturer’s championship, while ATS-V.R drivers Michael Cooper and Johnny O’Connell trail Porsche’s Patrick Long and McLaren’s Alvaro Parente in the driver’s championship.
Sonoma is the last double header of the year and will thus be the last opportunity for Cadillac to score points before the season finale at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca. Sonoma has historically preferred mid-engine cars, but Cooper is positive the ATS-V.R will be able to hang with the McLaren of Parente through Sonoma’s tight turns.
The first race of the double header weekend at Sonoma will go green at at 1:45 p.m. on Saturday, September 17th, while Round 19 will kick off at 1:15 p.m. on Sunday, September 18th. Live streams of both races will be available via world-challenge.com, along with live timing at livetiming.net/pwc/. If you’re not around this weekend, CBS Sports will host a re-run of both races on September 25th at 4:00 p.m. ET.
