Thanks to Heatshield Products’ proprietary HPTC coating and specially designed weave, the Cobra Skin wrap, has maximum thermal resistance and insulation while allowing for maximum flexibility. The flexibility makes for an easier installation process, and allows the material to expand and contrast with the metal of the exhaust system. In essence, this should lessen the chance of cracked piping.
Heatshield Products claims that the material’s “deep-black carbon-fiber look” has been designed to retain color much longer than graphite-coated wraps, giving you a clean look that’ll last. In addition, the HPTC coating increases abrasion-resistance, which results in less fraying of the threads.
As far as actual specifications, the Cobra Skin exhaust wrap is capable of sustaining 1,350 degrees Fahrenheit continuously. We have to wonder if the exhaust wraps found at your local auto store can do the same. With more than 30 years of expertise under its belt, we’d like to think that the made-in-the-USA Heatshield Products are of superior quality.
