Ford and the F-Series trucks have become the “Official Truck of the NFL,” according to our sister publication, Ford Authority. The move formally ousts the GMC as the “Official Vehicle of the NFL” and sets Ford up for a three-year long partnership to market its F-150, and new Super Duty family. The deal, with no cost specified, includes everything from static vehicle placement, to Uber rides.
Meanwhile, Chevrolet will continue to hold its ground as the official vehicle of Major League Baseball in the U.S.
General Motors moved away from its big dollar NFL sponsorship in 2014, leaving the space open for many automakers itching for a larger audience. At which point, Hyundai moved quickly to secure its spot as the “Official Sponsor of the NFL,” and remains that way, but an official truck sponsorship goes exclusively to Ford.

I would think Chevrolet would benefit more from the NFL than baseball. I get the baseball-hot dogs-apple pie & Chevrolet jingle tie but I don’t really know that many people that actually watch it. Everyone I know myself included watches football… And most have trucks. Ford & Chevy being the dominant two. I always look forward to the new Chevrolet commercials come Super Bowl time when I know they’re coming.
Another confusing thing is the first round of post bk GMC commercials were very informative and IMO seemed like they should be Chevrolet commercials to target Ford. Now the latest GMC commercials seem like they should be Cadillac commercials. They’re very good but they’re better at marketing luxury IMO than what Cadillac has for commercials.
