In the U.S., Cadillac sales increased 3.6 percent to 16,346 units.

August 2016 retail sales were up 0.3 percent, or 42 units, year-over-year to 13,990 units, representing 85.6 percent of total Cadillac sales for August 2016. That compares to 13,948 retail sales in August 2015, which represented 88.6 percent of total Cadillac sales.

  1. I’m starting to see more XT5s on the road. The styling looks great in person. I’ve also seen some CT6’s, which also look great in person. The CT6 is a big roomy car with clean/ tight lines. It is also a very good looking vehicle.

    1. I agree with you that both vehicles look better in person. The pictures do not do it justice.
It’s hard to pick up the subtle details and get the overall proportions from pictures.

  2. The fleet sales bump aside I expect Cadillac to do well for the remainder of the year.
Inventories of the XT5 are increasing. The CT6 will chip in between 1000-1500 units per month consistently.
Those vehicles plus the Escalade models will hold the fort until the fresh troops start arriving in 2018.

  3. The XTS’s are all over the rental car lots. Had a Taurus reserved in Minneapolis and Budget offered an XTS for only $4 per day more – sounded like a good deal and I took it. The XTS is a beautiful car…

  4. I wonder if they are just doing the fleet to get them into hands of people not normally driving Cadillac. The increase in fleet sales is counter to what GM has been trying to do and to do this on a new vehicle that had been in short supply for dealers is strange.

These are nice and I think the one thing is that it changed but not a lot. Many people may not notice the improvements. This is kind of like the last Chevy truck where under the skin it was all new but the styling changed just a little.

Yes photos on most of the new cars fall short of how they really look anymore. The Lacrosse did not impress me one bit till I saw one in person. That is why i really want to see the new concept in person.

  5. You can watch the commercials and read reviews but there is nothing like getting behind the wheel of a car to really get an impression of it . That’s why fleet sales are not necessarily a bad thing . It can equate to a days long test drive . So long as there isn’t a huge reliance on that part of the business .
I got to see a new XT5 at a stop light and a nice looking SRX pulled up slowly next to it , looking at both side to side really shows how well the new one looks .
I know I am the minority here but the XTS is still selling relatively well and if Cadillac does a major refresh next year I can see it sticking around past 2020 .

  6. Cadillac needs more CUVs urgently. XT3 and XT4 could make the brand hits 50.000 cars/month.
