Based on a high-tech, modern and lightweight rear-drive architecture called Omega, the CT6 is the first Cadillac model to compete in the full-size luxury flagship sedan space that has been defined by such segment stalwarts as the BMW 7 Series, Mercedes-Benz S-Class, Audi A8/S8, and Lexus LS.

Great month for the CT6! Hopefully the sales were mostly retail and not fleet. But as stated in another comment I saw a 7 series owner trade his BMW in for a white CT6. Good to know that the car getting some looks from German owners.
comparing sales in july\august to competitors, ct6 may be at 3rd place after S-class and 7 er on US market.
it’s a good result in this segment
Well, it would be a great result if it was close to its closest rivals in price. But as it currently stands, it’s a good $20,000-40,000 less expensive.
New kid on the block with over 30 year of stink on it. Needs time to rebuild reputation. Then perhaps it can then go head to head.
Agreed that the brand is a little tarnished right now and does not have the cache to go toe to toe. Also the CT6 I do not believe was meant as a box for box competitor to the S Class.
That is the duty for the ‘CT8’.
1242 units this past month, huh? Not bad! Not bad at all….Wake me up when Caddy decides to drop the 4.2L TTV8 in this puppy!
You maybe in for a long nap.
I love the CT6 TTV6 with 400HP.. but I will buy a CT6 V8, TT or SCharged. Truth is I have yet to come up with one single valid reason why the LT series engines are not being put into this car in the United States. We have no tax on displacement. And even at the price point where the next level trim of any CT6 would come in starting.. $90K+.. the tax is negligible to those buying. My VSerie’s LT4 with 640HP in Touring mode is as smooth and cool as any V8 produced by BMW or Benz IMO. That’s with it having an aggressive exhaust. My Stingray LT1 is, in touring mode, very smooth and cool as well.
It makes zero sense to offer the OHV engines in an up to $98K Escalade and up to $105K CTS-V and then deem it not good enough to go in a $65K CT6
cause this old OHV v8 good for sport car like corvette or cts-v and truck like tahoe or escalade, but not represent level of refinement that CT6 segment requires. LT not luxury engine, not modern not technologically advanced. It’s too big and heavy.
in CT6 GM shows all technology that it has in auto industry and simply can’t put old ancient ohv engine along with modern 2.0TT\3.6\3.0TT inside hi-tech body….even on US market.
new 4.2 dohc v8 TT will fit much better. Need to wait a little)
Cadillac CT6 sales is not through the cannibalization of other models as CTS sales for August 2016 were at 1,426; but it’ll be interesting to see how many buyers were buying the CT6 with the base 260 hp LTG 2.0L DOHC-4v 4-cyl turbo because some have suggested it was actually more fun to drive given it was so much lighter than the CT6 with V6.
jamdown is correct , let us not forget that Cadillac backed away from the CT6 being the S-Class fighter . Sure it’s Cadillacs flagship right now but is in no way to be looked at as a competitor . The Lincoln Continental or the Genesis are a more realistic segment . Even the new Genesis division has the S-Class as a target but lacks the cache of a Mercedes , for now . Plus the pricing is well below the big hitters . They have an image problem too , which is why it’s the new luxury division of Hyundai to seperate it from the other cars . One thing I noticed , if you take both the CT6 and G90 and look at the side profile they are almost identical .
We need to wait for Cadillac’s new V8 to arrive for some people to pay 88 grand for the Platinum CT6 , this is their image problem right now .
