C7 Corvette Gets Destroyed By Camaro Re-Entering Race Track: Video

We just ran across this video shared by Jalopnik that gives a perfect demonstration of what not to do when re-joining a race, and boy is it nasty. The heavy impact between Trans Am Racing Paul Fix’s Chevrolet C7 Corvette and Tristan Herbert’s Camaro is enough to make you cringe.
The No. 50 Corvette’s front end is pulverized. The No. 12 Camaro also sustains heavy damage, but to a lesser degree.
Fix is undeniably at fault for the incident, as it was him who pulled onto the track when he was unable to see oncoming racers. Worse than that, the Corvette was perpendicular as it came onto the track. As one Jalopnik reader suggested, perhaps Fix thought the stop sign on the side of his Corvette would prevent him from getting T-boned, but no such luck.
Fix compounds his error by trying to put the blame on Herbert, stating that the yellow flag was out. Ultimately Fix should have followed instruction from the corner marshall, rather than pull out onto the track with absolutely no vision.
As the saying goes, stuff happens. It’s easy to get caught up in the race when you’re trying to win, we get that. Perhaps it wasn’t out of the best judgement, but Fix is human after all.

This was a month ago. One stupid move.
I was there when it happened.
The one that got missed was Greg Picketts Jag caught fire and burned heavily. I have half of the front end hanging up in the garage now from his Trans Am car.
Congratulatrions to Kryder Racing who finished 2nd in their new CTS coupe.
