Buick Regal Wagon Reportedly Testing In Focus Groups

The evidence continues to pile regarding a Buick Regal wagon variant for its next generation. Recently, Autoblog learned the model is now undergoing focus group testing with consumers.
The brand is reportedly matching it against the Acura TSX wagon and an unnamed Volvo wagon, while we learned months back General Motors had applied to register the “Regal TourX” and “TourX” names with the USPTO. Buick also reportedly showed a Regal wagon at its latest dealer meeting.
A 2018 Buick Regal wagon wouldn’t be a tough job since cousin Opel will have an all-new wagon variant on hand and ready for rebadging.
Buick responded to the report by saying there will be three new vehicle debuts by the end of 2017, but would not comment further. If we’re making educated guesses, one is clearly a 2018 Buick Enclave, the next the 2018 Buick Regal and the other is a mystery.
The wagon could be a separate model, or be rolled under the Regal name. If it does bear a Regal name, it fuels the rumor of the Opel Astra hatchback arriving stateside as a Verano hatchback.

The Acura TSX doesn’t exist anymore!
Wagons are a dead brand in America in the traditional sense.
Now if they can do a Opel Cross 4 like model that sits a little higher but still not be a SUV like model in the vein of the Forester they may have something that will take.
But if they just do a wagon that is not seen in a off road all terrain fashion this one will go the way of all the wagons before it.
GM learned already you can sell a car based wagon as long as people see it as SUV or truck like. The HHR sold in great numbers and really was nothing but a Cobalt wagon.
I own a turbo wagon now and love it but the market not so much. It Is what it is.
We’re currently driving our third Volvo wagon and none of them have been the Cross Country model. One of our two cars will always be a wagon
YAYYYYY!!! Finally the wagon returns. A Buick noless. I can’t wait. I’ve been waiting for a big wagon. I drove wagons until they disappeared. I’m on the road a lot and love to be able to sleep in my wagon. The AWD will be a bonus too. Yayyyyy!
