The Corvette Funfest takes place every September at Mid America Motorworks’ Corporate Campus in Effingham, Illinois. It’s described as “four days of Corvette expert seminars, product displays, fashion shows, Corvette Clubs, headlining entertainment and more.” Sounds like a great time if you ask us. The 24th annual event is scheduled for September 14-17 of next year.
CorvetteBlogger tells us that the powers that be are already brainstorming plans for next year’s event, which will pay homage to the 1967 Chevrolet Corvette. This is significant because 1967 was the final year for the second generation Corvette, a favorite among many enthusiasts.
The C2 Corvette is arguably one of the best looking Corvette generations and featured no shortage of special builds such as the original Grand Sport, original Sting Ray, original Z06, or even the mighty L88. Collectors go crazy for ’em, especially if it has that all-too-important split rear window. In fact, C2 Corvettes routinely fetch well into six-figures at auctions, with the record being an insane $3.5 million for a certain 1967 model.
