2017 Chevrolet Volt Earns An Overall ‘Good’ Rating From IIHS: Video

The small-overlap crash test has become an important testing figure as of recent, as it truly mimics more realistic vehicle crash scenarios. Thankfully, if you’re in the market for a shiny new PHEV, the 2017 Chevrolet Volt did quite well.

The IIHS has stamped the second-generation Volt with an overall “good” rating following its crash tests. In the video above, the 2017 Volt can be seen performing the small-overlap test at 40 mph, which shows the front end collapsing forward, but leaving the cockpit and A-pillar bolstering the occupant for safe keeping.

Have a look at the crash test right up above.
