The 2017 Cadillac XT5 will have its occupants in safe keeping. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety ran the 2017 XT5 through its usual round of crash testing and bestowed Cadillac’s latest luxury crossover with an overall “good” rating.
In the video above, the XT5 is seen performing in the small-overlap crash test, an important safety standard in today’s modern world. The test is meant to mimic a vehicle meandering out of its lane and into a stationary object.
The XT5 collapses in all the right places, with front and side-curtain air bags ensuring the occupant doesn’t receive a jarring head or neck injury.
Despite strides in active safety features, it’s sometimes the active ones that really count.
