The order guide for the 2017 Cadillac ATS has been updated to include a catback performance exhaust system, a feature previously unavailable on the ATS family.
An LPO-level (dealer-installed) accessory assigned RPO code RXE, the new system is available on models with the 3.6L V-6 LGX engine on both the 2017 Cadillac ATS Sedan and 2017 Cadillac ATS Coupe.
We’ll keep eyes out for how much the exhaust system costs, how it sounds, any performance attributes, and who the provider might be, if it is not GM/Cadillac proper… so stay tuned.

We also want to know expected HP gains or is it just sound?
Can it be added to a previous year?
One has to hope Cadillac will consider licensing Bosch’s water injection system for their turbocharged V6 engines as Bosch suggest a minimum of 5-percent increase in horsepower output with a 13-percent increase in fuel mileage.
Good to know Cadillac is still offering options on the aging ATS with improvements.
There are many exhaust available for the V series cars. To know if they will cross you may want to check Borla or Corsa to see if theirs cross as if they do GM’s should.
As for HP most systems on performance models gain 5-10 HP.
As for water injection. It is nothing new and many Diesel owners have been using it. The new modern systems are better than the old but it does require you to keep them filled and many use a alcohol bases water. Not sure many owners will want to fill for a small HP increase and in performance applications MPG is not a priority.
The biggest thing here is this will help the dealers with add on sales. They can make money on these parts and add the cost to the car loan at the point of sale.
