When it comes to squeezing more power out of your LT1 V8-powered 2016 Chevrolet Camaro SS you also need to keep in mind cooling, and C&R Racing now offers a solution for those who are looking to make upgrades to their new muscle car.
C&R claims that this radiator is good for up to 1,000 horsepower (or “700 real-world horsepower”) and has a burst rating of 100 horsepower. The design features extruded tubes which eliminates the air gap found in most standard cores. This equates to more tube-to-fin contact, allowing for better heat transfer, as explained by C&R. The radiator also features a a reinforced (cross-braced) Race-Fin design and subheaders for increased durability, and includes a 5-plate all-aluminum transmission cooler for either automatic or manual transmissions.
This added performance isn’t exactly cheap, as the price tag on this radiator is $1,200 plus shipping. Part of this is the price of convenience, as the radiators are made to drop in to your Camaro as a factory replacement, and come with new factory core support mounts. And, of course, they’re built here in the USA. Check out C&R’s website for more information.
