The hype is real as Chevrolet continues to highlight the 50th anniversary of the Camaro. To mark the significant milestone GM is rolling out the 50th Anniversary Edition Camaro, which flaunts a Nightfall Gray Metallic exterior complete with a model-specific stripe package, exterior badges, and other special touches. The marketing team has also put together this nostalgic video.
With this video Chevy reminds us that those who find the Camaro appealing are those who speak its language. Those who ‘get it’ understand what this means, they understand the thrill of driving. There’s a reason why Chevy’s marketing team used the slogan of “hug the road.” Though the “hugging” reference likely has to do with the Hugger Camaro of yore, putting the Camaro on the Alpha platform still achieves exactly that.
Those who speak its language don’t care about the slanted windshield, they embrace it. They aren’t disenchanted by the similar design cues across the first, fifth, and sixth generation Camaros; in fact it is quite the opposite.
We’re fluent in the Camaro-tongue, but even if you aren’t you can’t say you’re not excited about the most capable Camaro to ever come into existence – the 2017 ZL1 which is said to have 650HP/650 lb-ft of torque. If you somehow haven’t heard of it yet, be sure to check it out after watching this short video.

The first thing that pops into my head when I see the 2016 Chevrolet Camaro is that the engineers at Chevrolet understand some things better than the guys at Cadillac because they modified the ATS chassis to be capable of handling the 650 hp of the LT4 supercharged 6.2L V8 and be made into a convertible.
