We don’t want to make any leap-of-faith guesses because we’re not entirely sure, but this is probably the 2017 or 2018 C7 Corvette ZR1 in prototype guise. We’re staying cautious because it could also be a possible factory-prepped racer with its massive rear wing.
Anyway, Autoblog has a very, very close photo of the proposed C7 Corvette ZR1, showcasing the rear end of this particular car. From what we can see, it doesn’t seem to deviate much from the C7 Stingray or Z06, though it does wear the same rear vents as the Z06, unlike the Stingray.
The prototype was also sans massive rear spoiler, which certainly leads us to believe it can be detachable and used when appropriate, similar to what we’ve inferred from the 2018 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28.
For now, details remain a mystery. We have a handful of blurry spy photos and this prototype’s butt. We’ll simply wait patiently until someone actually wants us to know what’s going on with this Corvette.
