Pair Of Rumored C7 Corvette ZR1 Prototypes Spied In Ohio

Lunch breaks are mandatory. Everyone has to eat, and everyone needs a break; even if your job is to tool around in upcoming C7 Corvette hardware.
That’s the case here, as Corvette Blogger reports its exclusive shots of what the industry has referred to as most likely the 2018 C7 Corvette ZR1. The two C7 Corvette ZR1 mules were seen pulling into a Qdoba restaurant in Marietta, Ohio before they were quickly covered with tarps. A local snapped shots of the Corvettes before they took off and headed to their next destination. Both Corvette were sans massive rear spoiler.
If Marietta, Ohio sounds like an intriguing place to take such cars, it’s not. Marietta is home to superb driving roads, and we have a feeling these Corvette team members were busy shaking down whatever’s going on underneath all the camouflage.
Rumor has it the C7 ZR1 will be the swan song for the front-engine, rear-wheel drive Corvette before a mid-engined variant takes its place sometime after 2018. Other arguments state this could be a hardcore, track-ready Z06X.
One thing is certain, though: these same prototypes feature blue brake calipers, the same attribute found on the C6 Corvette ZR1.
