Sales of GM’s premium truck and crossover brand, GMC, increased in the United States and decreased in Canada in July 2016.
GMC July 2016 Sales Numbers – United States
In the U.S., GMC sales increased 4.48 percent to 51,137 units.
Retail sales were up 9.9 percent, or 4,317 units, year-over-year to 47,809 units, representing 93.5 percent of total GMC sales for the month. That compares to 43,492 retail sales in July 2015, which was 89.2 percent of total GMC sales. GM’s continued focus on profitable retail sales allowed GMC to gain 0.3 percentage points in retail market share in July.
Fleet sales were down 37 percent, or 1,957 units, year-over-year to 3,328 units, representing 6.5 percent of total GMC sales for the month. That compares to 5,285 fleet sales in July 2015, which represented 10.8 percent of total GMC sales.

Individual model sales performance was as follows:
- GMC Acadia sales decreased 30.07 percent to 7,462 units
- The first units of the all-new 2017 Acadia began arriving at dealers during the month
- GMC Canyon sales increased 33.08 percent to 3,532 units
- GMC Savana sales decreased 25.99 percent to 726 units
- GMC Sierra sales increased 13.23 percent to 22,428 units
- GMC Terrain sales increased 6.38 percent to 9,375 units, its best July ever
- The GMC Yukon has achieved its 11th straight year-over-year increase:
- GMC Yukon sales increased 31.71 percent to 4,677 units
- GMC Yukon XL sales increased 27.75 percent to 2,937 units

In Canada, GMC sales decreased 11 percent to 6,669 units:
- GMC Acadia sales decreased 67.58 percent to 178 units
- GMC Canyon sales increased 15.81 percent to 520 units
- GMC Savana sales decreased 22.41 percent to 644 units
- GMC Sierra sales decreased 9.01 percent to 4,240 units
- GMC Terrain sales decreased 6.44 percent to 784 units
- GMC Yukon sales increased 69.23 percent to 176 units
- GMC Yukon XL sales increased 101.59 percent to 127 units

Quite a drop for the GMC Acadia both in US & Canada. Must have had a significant cut to the production schedule. For what reason? Curious?
