GM Among Handful Of Companies To Join The Equal Pay Pledge

General Motors has taken an additional step forward to reduce and eliminate gender bias regarding pay scales. According to The Wall Street Journal, GM and 29 other companies were the latest to sign the White House’s pledge to conduct an “annual gender pay analysis designed to eliminate inequitable compensation.”
By signing, GM also agreed to review its hiring and promotion processes to reduce unconscious bias and install equal pay efforts throughout the organization.
General Motors was joined by Apple, Facebook, Target and Visa among others who have recently signed the Equal Pay Pledge.
On average, women earn 79 percent of what men do, according to the report.
