Florida Hawk Survives Encounter With Chevrolet S-10

It’s not a good day when an animal is involved with a vehicle, but it’s not every day a very large hawk of all things is involved.

According to FOX13, a red-shouldered hawk was struck by a Chevrolet S-10 pickup, but it wasn’t actually hit. Instead, somehow, it became stuck between the grille of the truck.

“He had one wing and one leg stuck all the way through, and his head and the other wing and leg was, you know, was poking out. And he wasn’t too happy!” Carey Gregory, the driver, told FOX13.

Thankfully, Gregory was only a few minutes from a wildlife facility, which freed the bird to reveal only minor injuries. The center fixed the hawk up overnight and released the massive bird the next morning.
