The GM Authority Take

Despite fuel prices holding back the sales volume success of small, affordable and fuel-efficient vehicles such as the Spark, it’s still nice to see the tiny car gain in year-over-year sales volume. We’re going to attribute this to the all-new, second-generation model being highly competitive in its class.

  1. I like the little car. I think outside of Nissan it’s the cheapest offering in the segment and in my opinion it’s the best looking. It’s a very good city car, short commuter vehicle or simply a go getter. I think some people buy it as second car to save their first vehicle.

  2. How many of these Sparks were the EV model?

    1. No way to find out unless GM discloses the figures… which it traditionally has not.

That said, the second-gen doesn’t have the EV variant… so it’s probably safe to say that the first-gen Spark EV accounted for very few of the 4,229 Spark deliveries for the month.
