The rocker moldings look nice , but couldn’t see the other two . Sometimes what happens is during the design phase different models are shown for final approval for the build and then later we end up with these add-ons that the other designers wanted to see initially . And that isn’t a bad thing , it gives customers a different style to their car if they like what they see .
I think the online configurator pictures don’t reflect the front and rear end treatments that this body kit brings.
Right there with you on the different iterations of design. It is a good idea to be able to apply different designers’ results via body kits, thereby making them even more money.
the side profile looks boring and dated…Art & Science is just tired.
You are probably the only person in the world who thinks so. The funniest thing is that you haven’t even seen a CT6 in person. Have you?
Also, what do you drive?
He drives a bucket with missing hubcaps.
Also kicking the bucket too which is time for the moderator to ban Rye and his aliases for good.
Hahahah, you don’t want to give up, Rye. That’s right my man. We both know the truth.
And not only the side profile, but also the rear and its life less tail lights.
I’m curious what it looks like in person with the ground effects package. For such a large very comfortable sedan, it could look awkward with it but again, very stunning and add character to the car.
I had a chance to see this kit in person, but couldn’t snap any pics. The kit looks very good. It gives the car an even bolder and sportier presence. It’s much more like an AMG S63 or AMG S65 — very aggressive/sporty and stunning but also quite classy.
Ground effects.. is Cadillac President Johan de Nysschen having a change of heart or is he realizing that performance sells. One can just imagine the 640 horsepower LT4 supercharged 6.2L V8 powering an all-wheel-drive all-wheel-steering CT6-V because nothing says modern luxury than performance because this is what the Europeans have been doing for the past 40 years.. Mercedes with their AMG series and BMW with the M machines.
I think it’s fairly obvious that, coming from Audi, he knows that performance sells. The real question is whether the CT6 is just a stop-gap product… and if it is, maybe that is why it’s not being given the full-blown V-Series treatment, which is being reserved for the “real” flagship CT7 or CT8.
On a related note: Mercedes-Benz has the awesome S63 AMG and S65 AMG, but BMW does not have an official M version of the 7 Series. There is, however, an Alpina 7, which is done by a third party tuning firm. Also, Audi has yet to do an RS version of its A8/S8 full-size sedan. Same with Lexus and its LS — there isn’t an LS-F. But maybe I should append the word “yet” to all of those 🙂
Not available in any of the best colors though, why?
If I were buying the CT6, I would get it in one of the four colors in which this kit is available. That said, GM (and Cadillac) do this very often — they limit kits, packages, etc. to certain “basic” colors within the lineup. I’d like to see that changed, personally.
I would choose red, as I feel that white/silver/black have become extremely played out, particularly in the premium class. Looking around the parking lots or roads around here reveals a sea of sameness. Obviously, as per my screen name, I do drive a black Buick. I’d still rather have red, but being a used vehicle price won out over color preference this time, and I was resigned to “well, at least it’s not silver”. I’ve always driven red/blue/green cars previously, and have been blown away by the amount of compliments I’ve gotten from friends and strangers alike on my Buick. Apparently the masses don’t share my opinions on color, but I feel like picking out a new car has been dumbed down to be too similar picking out a new refrigerator …white, silver or black. We all have different opinions for different reasons, so I’m curious to hear why you would prefer to conform to one of these colors?
Subtle is too strong a word.
Yeah, the pictures are not configured properly. They’re missing the front and rear end treatments.
From the article: the pictures of the CT6 body kit in question were sourced from Cadillac’s online configurator for the CT6. Though they do show the side rocker panels, the images do not seem to portray the front splitter or rear diffuser.
rye , rye , rye ……. why , why , why . If you are posting for attention it’s getting a bit OLD .
This is a forum for ideas , thoughts and information . None of us agree on everything but at least we are grown up enough to give others respect for sharing . And kudos to the authors of the articles that give us the latest information that they receive and is interesting to those of us that read the posts .
I think the best thing to do is to just not respond to this troll and maybe he / she will move on .
But when you get out of your diapers and start wearing big boy pants then maybe you will have something positive to say once in a while . I think I heard your mother calling you …………………………………………….. 😉 .
the front of the CT6 looks good but the rear looks fat.
This was available from the get-go on the 2016, so not sure why there is an article on this now. I have it on my Premium Luxury 2016 and it looks great. You are correct, in that you cannot see it at all in the configurator. Also for 2017, for some reason, it is no longer available on the Premium Luxury Model if you get the Driver Assist package (could be that somehow it interferes with some their their camera, radar, laser sensing equipment??)
In any event ask you dealer to see a model with it installed and you will immediately see the difference (side, front and back!)
That’s strange that it was available from the get-go. It’s marked as “new” in the 2017 CT6 order guide, and wasn’t in the 2016 order guide. I’m going to guess that this was a late 2016 option slipstreamed into 2017 MY.
Would you happen to have any pictures of your CT6 with the kit? If you do, it would be awesome to have them — we can include it in the gallery to this post.
Alex, I actually “ordered” my CT6 in December of 2016 and the ground effects option may have been in subsequent “addendums” to the 2016 original order guide (not sure.) What I do know is that it was immediately available on the “configurator” from the beginning. I do not know how to post images on this forum, but would be glad to. I have a side body shot (close up) and then I took both front and rear body, but with the TriWhite the front (where the ground effects part is black) and the rear (which is also black) get a little blanched out from all of the white around it…but people will get the idea.
