2018 Holden Commodore Spy Shots Showcase Its New Liftback Design

2017 Opel Insignia, 2017 Vauxhall Insignia, 2018 Buick Regal or 2018 Holden Commodore. Call it what you will, but the car will be very much the same for each market it serves.

Seeing as Australian publication Motoring has the spy shots time go around, we’ll discuss the 2018 Holden Commodore. The latest photos give us a great look at the car’s rear end, which will feature a liftback design, akin to the Audi A7. It’s also finally shed the hefty plastic cladding that has long distorted the car’s actual body lines.

We can certainly see a sloping roofline is present, but it remains to be seen how distinct styling will differ from its global counterparts.

The 2018 Holden Commodore will be the first-ever imported Commodore, and will be the first time a Commodore features front-wheel drive since the incarnation of the nameplate. An all-wheel drive, twin-turbo V6 variant is likely to replace void a V8-powered SS trim will leave.

The 2016 Paris Motor Show will provide Holden aficionados a first look at the inbound Commodore; the 2017 Opel Insignia will make its world debut in Paris in just a few short weeks.

    1. I doubt it. I foresee Holden going under, starting the moment the last VF is delivered.
