2017 Opel Zafira Production Begins At Rüsselsheim Plant

The 2017 Opel Zafira MPV is officially here, as Opel marked the first production Zafira with a ceremony at its Rüsselsheim vehicle assembly.

The Magma Red Zafira is equipped with the OPC line package, Adaptive Forward Lighting and radar-based adaptive cruise control, the first of its kind to leave the assembly line. Opel also offers a slew of additional content for the 2017 Zafira, including Opel OnStar.

“We have once again had a great start. I am proud to work with a team that is so passionate about our products, thus making such successes possible,” said Plant Manager, Michael Lewald.

Opel CEO Dr. Karl-Thomas Neumann and Vice President Manufacturing Phil Kienle were on hand to celebrate the latest production effort, which continues Opel’s inbound streak of new products.

The 2017 Opel Zafira is one of 29 new models to be launched by 2020.
