2017 Chevrolet Camaro To Reportedly Be Rated At 650 Horsepower, 650 Pound-Feet Of Torque

It’s always good news when an upcoming performance vehicle will reportedly be receiving more power than originally thought. That seems to be the case with the 2017 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1.

The Camaro Six forum report a leaked order guide for the upcoming 2017 Camaro ZL1 show 650 hp, and 650 lb-ft of torque. If you recall, the 2017 Camaro ZL1 was originally unveiled with 640 hp, and 640 lb-ft of torque. The bump of 10 ponies and extra 10 units of twist will put the 6.2-liter LT4 supercharged V8 on par with its C7 Corvette Z06 brethren.

It would also place it slightly above the 2016 Cadillac CTS-V, which also shares the LT4 V8 engine, but makes do with just 640 hp.

The 2017 Camaro ZL1 should receive official ratings soon, as the latest Camaro variant prepares to launch later this year.

    1. There is no such thing. Only the 3.6 V6 and 6.2 V8 SS can be had with the 1LE.

  2. This is a poor decision.
There is a market for this combination …..and not just in the Orient.
The powerplant and the chassis could be developed to create a well balanced track car …….
Oh yeah……I forgot …….I am told there was no market for a Cruze SS with a 2.0 turbo either……silly me.
