European football (soccer) fans might remember that GM’s U.K.-based subsidiary, Vauxhall, hosted a party at the Cheshire, England home of former Welsh midfielder, Robbie Savage, this summer. The occasion? To watch the Euro Cup’s Wales vs. England game. Only 20 fans were invited to the affair, which took place on Thursday, June 16th and from which England walked away victorious in a 2-1 nerve-wrecker.
With that we ask — did any GM Authority readers attend the party at Savage Towers? If so, do let us know in the comments section below.
To note, Savage’s message to his guests was as follows: “Whilst I’m away in France, I need someone to house sit and continue the celebrations for me at home. It’s my favorite place to watch the football. There’s a fully stocked fridge and multiple big screens to catch all the action – it’s a winning combination. Pob lwc!”
He also set out some House Rules, including:
- Hands off my hair products
- No feet on the sofa, or you’ll have my wife to answer to!
- #GetIN celebrations to support your team are a must
- The animal print Savage bedspread is ‘strictly’ out of bounds
- Be polite to guests – you never know who is going to drop in….
The event was the result of a team-up between Savage and GM’s Vauxhall, the official sponsor of the National Teams, as part of a celebratory #GetIN campaign, whose goal is to encourage the public to get behind their favorite team this summer.
“Our #GetIN campaign is all about that feeling of excitement when you’re poised for a big game, the sun is shining, and you are surrounded by your mates – win, lose or draw, there will be moments to celebrate throughout the summer. Whether you prefer Robbie Savage on the dance floor or the football pitch, Vauxhall Motors is helping you get behind your national team this summer.” said Andrew Curley, Head of Sponsorship and Events, Vauxhall Motors.
So, were you one of the lucky 20 who went to Savage Towers to watch the match? If so, sounds off in the comments — we’d love to hear from you about the experience.
